Government of India Launches Laptop Scholarship Scheme for Students

This video is for educational purposes only. Hello friends, welcome back to your favorite channel, Tricky Man. Today, I have a big update for all of you — the Government of India has introduced a Scholarship Laptop Scheme under the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

This is a free online scholarship program, and students who get selected will receive up to ₹50,000 per year as a scholarship amount. The money can be used for college fees, purchasing a laptop or computer, buying books, stationery, or any academic needs.

So, if you’ve been planning to buy a laptop or computer but couldn’t due to financial issues, this is a great opportunity. Since it’s a government scholarship, it’s 100% genuine.

In this video, I’ll share all official details step by step. You can also verify everything yourself from the official sources mentioned.

Overview of the AICTE Scholarship Schemes

The AICTE offers three main scholarship schemes:

Pragati Scholarship Scheme

Saksham Scholarship Scheme

Swanath Scholarship Scheme

Each scheme has its own eligibility criteria and benefits.

1. AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls

This scholarship is only for female students. To be eligible:

You must be a female Indian national. You should be currently enrolled in the first year of a diploma or degree program, or even in the second year through lateral entry. Your family income must be less than ₹8 lakh per year. Up to two female members per family can apply (for example, you and your sister).

Every year, 10,000 scholarships are awarded — 5,000 for degree students and 5,000 for diploma students. The selected students receive up to ₹50,000 per year to support their education expenses such as tuition fees, books, stationery, laptops, and computers.

Required Documents:

10th and 12th mark sheets
Aadhaar card
Income certificate
Admission letter from your institution

Applications are accepted online only, and the process is simple and free.

2. AICTE Saksham Scholarship for Specially-Abled Students

This scholarship is designed for students with disabilities. Eligibility requirements:

You must have at least 40% benchmark disability. You should be enrolled in the first or second year of a degree or diploma course. Your annual family income should be less than ₹8 lakh. The scholarship amount is up to ₹50,000 per year, just like the Pragati scheme. This financial support can be used for college tuition, laptop purchases, study materials, or any other academic needs.

3. AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme

This is one of the most comprehensive and impactful scholarships under AICTE. Both male and female students can apply.

It is especially for students who have faced difficult family circumstances, such as:

Losing one or both parents due to COVID-19
Having parents who served in the Armed Forces or Central Paramilitary Forces and lost their lives in the line of duty
Being a ward of a worker in the Public Works Department (PWD) who passed away due to critical or life-threatening conditions

Students from any year of study (first to fourth year) in any degree program can apply. However, applicants must not be receiving any other Central or State Government scholarship.

Scholarship Benefits:

A lump sum of ₹50,000 per year. The amount can be used for college fees, books, stationery, laptop or computer purchases, and software. The scholarship continues for up to four years for degree students and three years for diploma students, depending on the duration of the course.

Required Documents:

10th/12th mark sheets
Aadhaar card
Proof of income and eligibility (such as death certificate or service proof if applicable)
